Bulls vs Nets Game 2 Preview

brooklyn-nets-vs-chicago-bullsAfter the Chicago Bulls were defeated 106-89 in game one on Satarday where the offense and defense struggled the need to find a way to slow down a hot offense. The Nets made 16 of 20 shots in the second, shooting 60 percent in the first half and opening a 60-35 lead. The Nets finished the season winning six of its final seven games of the regular season. Right now the Bulls are in bad shaped with injuries Derrick Rose still has yet to return and center Joakim Noah played a limited role coming back from his foot injury. Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said “The thing is, we’re disappointed. We played poorly and we have to change the mentality. We have to correct the mistakes,” “Brooklyn’s a terrific team. They’ve been playing great down the stretch, they have good momentum going into the playoffs, they’re going to challenge you and we have to be ready to respond.” Game 2 will be played Monday, April 22 in Brooklyn at 8:00 PM ET.

J.R Smith Wins Sixth Man

hi-res-139327278_crop_650x440It was announced that New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith has won the NBA’s Sixth Man Award. He will have his press conference and recieve the award this afternoon. Smith averaged 18.1 points this year coming off the bench and had 29 games scoring at least 20 points. He became the third player in Knicks history to win the award joining John Starks (96-97) and Anthony Mason (94-95). During the Knicks 13 game winning streak Smith scored 23.2 points per game on 49 percent shooting. Smith also had three straight 30-point games, it was the first time that was done by a bench player since Milwaukee’s Ricky Pierce in 1990. Smith finished strong in the second half of the season and ended the season leading all bench players in points per game (18.1). Jamal Crawford was second with 16.5 points per game.

Heat vs Bucks Recap

773111The Miami Heat defeated the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday 110-87. They now lead the series 1-0. Lebron James led the Heat with 27 points 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Ray Allen chipped in with 20 points and Dwayne Wade with 16. The Heat started out hot taking a nine point lead early in the first quarter. Then the Bucks with Brandon Jennings who led them with 26 points, kept it close in the first half only trailing by 7 at halftime. In the 3rd Miami blew the game open as they lead by as many as 25. The Heat had five players in double figures. Game two will be played on Tuesday, April 23 at 7:30 PM ET in Miami.

NBA Trade Rumors

Two of the biggest trade rumors in the NBA right now is Kevin Garrnett to the Clippers and Dwight Howard out of Los Angeles. The Clippers are openly interested in veteren but the Celtics front office thought the idea was “silly”. Many think that it would be smart for the Lakers to trade Dwight Howard before the trade deadline but Mitch Kupchak said that he will not be trade the All-Star center.

Rockets Tie NBA Record

The Golden State Warriors(30-18, 14-12 away) visted the Houston Rockets (27-23, 17-8 home) Tuesday night and was defeated in a 140-109 blowout. In the win the Rockets tied a NBA record  making 23 three point shots. NBA All-Star Game Rosters

The rosters for the 2013 all-star game have been announced for the East team the starters (votes) are: Lebron James (1,583,646), Carmelo Anthony (1,460,950), Dwayne Wade (1,052,310), Rajon Rondo injured (924,180) and, Kevin Garnett (553,222). The Reserves for the East team are: Chris Bosh, Tyson Chandler, Luol Deng, Paul George, Jrue Holiday, Kyrie Irving, Brook Lopez and, Joakim Noah. The West team starters (votes) are: Kobe Bryant (1,591,437), Kevin Durant (1,504,047), Chris Paul (929,155), Dwight Howard (922,070), Blake Griffin (863,832). The reserves are LaMarcus Aldridge, Tim Duncan, James Harden, David Lee, Tony Parker, Zach Randolph and, Russell Westbrook.
